The altercation by Will Smith at Academy Awards Ceremony has been criticized by many. A slap has never been so loud in the past, and we’re here for all the coverage at Thirsty. With a majority chiming in to support Chris Rock and calling out Smith for using violence, Smith has apologized.

On Monday, Kenny, who is one of six siblings to Chris, recently appeared in an interview with The Los Angeles Times and spoke about the infamous event that unfolded at the Oscars show. The disapproval of Smith’s behavior has continued to come even days after the incident.

“It eats at me watching it over and over again because you’ve seen a loved one being attacked and there’s nothing you can do about it,” the actor and entrepreneur told the outlet.

Kenny, 42, commented that his brother was “no threat” to Smith, who “had no respect” for Rock at that moment and “belittled” him in front of the millions of Oscars viewers. He also shared his views on Smith’s apology that never directly mentioned Rock.

“I might have looked at it differently had he initially apologized when he got on the stage and cried and accepted the award, but he didn’t, so, right there that tells me that it is something else,” he said.

Kenny clarified that he does not accept Will Smith’s apology. “I don’t think it was genuine,” he told The L.A. Times. “I think his publicist and the people that work under him probably advised him to do that.” He also defended his brother that he was unaware of Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith’s condition.

“The joke was funny,” said Kenny. “It wasn’t hilarious funny, but I know that if he knew that she had alopecia… he wouldn’t have made a joke about that. But he didn’t know.”

Aside from that, Kenny also mentioned that Academy should revoke the Oscar that King Richard actor won that night. He went on to say that Smith “should have been escorted out of there.” The aftermath of the incident has caused Will Smith to resign from Academy ahead of disciplinary action.
