Rod Wave Giving Out $25k In Free Gasoline

Everyone has noted the rising gas prices in the country. While the prices keep rising, people have expressed their frustration over the matter. In response to that Rod Wave has started an initiative.

Rod Wave said that he’s giving away $25,000 in free gas for fans on April 9th in St. Petersburg, Florida. Wave took to social media and shared a video where he addressed the issue and elaborated on his initiative.

“Gas high as f*ck,” Wave said in a video he shared. “St. Petersburg, Florida, St. Pete, 727 — giving away free gas April 9 at the Sunoco on 34th right before you get on the bridge. April 9, I’m giving away $25,000 in free gas. So April 9, 12 o’clock, pull up and get you a free full tank.”

During the video, Rod Wave showed how it costed him $100 to fill up the tank of his car. During the time of the giveaway event large crowds is expected to show up. Police spokesman Ken Knight confirmed that officers will be working traffic duty for that time period.

Oil prices started rising when Russia started their invasion of Ukraine, Brent crude oil is still hovering around $100 a barrel. In the wake of the recent price rise, President Joe Biden recently announced that 1 million barrels of oil will be released from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) per day.
