Halsey will attend the Grammy Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday. It comes barely three days after undergoing surgery. The surgery is apparently related to her chronic endometriosis troubles and it will not keep her from the big awards show.

The singer announced her pregnancy recently in an Instagram post that included a photo of herself in a hospital gown, face mask, and bouffant cap. Halsey, who uses the pronouns she/they, claimed that she was in the exact same situation when she had her first endometriosis surgery in 2017.

The last time I attended the Grammys was 2017 and it was 3 days after I had my first Endometriosis surgery. I walked the carpet with my stitches still in. As luck would have it, I’m attending tomorrow for the first time in years and I had surgery again (you guessed it) 3 days ago. Only posting this to say, if you see me be gentle lol I’m fragile. Fragile but excited.

Halsey opened her statement by describing her previous attendance at the star-studded event. Endometriosis is an frequently painful disorder in which tissue comparable to the tissue that normally lines the interior of the uterus — the endometrium — grows outside the uterus, according to the Mayo Clinic.

The Without Me singer will return to the Grammys just days after undergoing surgery, as she did last year. The Recording Academy previously honored Halsey for her contributions to Justin Bieber’s 2017 album Purpose, which was nominated for Album Of The Year. For her work on The Chainsmokers’ 2016 hit Closer, Halsey was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
