David Koechner, who starred in 2004’s “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,” has been charged with DUI and hit-and-run. The actor was arrested on New Year’s Eve and spent the New Year’s Day behind bars.

According to TMZ, the Ventura County District Attorney confirm that Koechner has been hit with one count of DUI and one count of hit-and-run. Each count carries up to six months behind bars.

First time offenders rarely serve prison time and chances are that the actor will get probation and a mandatory rehab course. Both DUI and hit-and-run are misdemeanor charges.

Police got wind of the actor through a phone call that stated a person’s car collided with street sign. The driver turned out to Koechner, who failed the field sobriety test and was immediately placed under arrest.
