Chris Rock returned to the stand-up comedy world in awkward fashion. Rock’s tour was scheduled long before the infamous incident at the Oscars where he was slapped by Will Smith. It was expected that he might hear about it from the audience once he hit the road.

The crowd in Boston was very supportive of Chris Rock. The comedian said he would address the incident later after making a joke about how everybody’s weekend went. The rowdy audience began yelling ‘F Will Smith’ audibly in a clip of the show captured by fans.

Chris simply wanted to move along with the show. Rock chose not to engage with the fans, although he likely wanted to. The only reaction he gave was that he was not going to react.

“Ummm … I’m gonna tell some jokes.”

Will Smith has apologized to both Chris Rock and the Academy, which organizes the Oscars. Thus far, the court of public opinion has continually roasted Smith since the slap. Will could also face expulsion from the organization.

Chris Rock is still processing the events of this past weekend. He has promised to address it eventually. For now, the show must go on!
