CEO of Tesla Motors and business tycoon Elon Musk certainly needs no introduction. He might be the richest man in the world but he is not without his fair share of controversies. Elon Musk also shared some news about his health recently. It seems he made some Eminem reference to oppose SEC decree.

Elon Musk recently invoked Eminem in an attempt to overturn a 2018 agreement with the top US securities regulator. Musk also repeated his effort to have a US Securities and Exchange Commission subpoena. It’s for details on whether he and Tesla are complying with their disclosure duties under the 2018 consent decree in a petition in federal court in Manhattan.

Musk’s tweet on Nov. 6, 2021, asking his followers if he should sell 10% of his Tesla share to settle tax liabilities on stock options is being investigated by the SEC. His interests in the electric car company have now been sold for $16.4 billion. Musk said in his filing recently that having Tesla lawyers vet some of his tweets was an illegal prior restraint on his expression that violated the First Amendment.

The (SEC) won’t let me be or let me be me so let me see; They tried to shut me down.

Musk made a direct reference from Eminem’s 2002 song “Without Me.” The Federal Communications Commission had punished radio stations for playing “The Real Slim Shady,” an Eminem song whose material it found offensive. Musk further claimed that the SEC’s subpoena was issued in bad faith and that he could not be subjected to a fishing expedition to harass him. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) declined to comment.
