WWE’s Current Belief About The Rock’s Return To The Company

WWE has a lot of plans in the works, and some of them will require a lot more coordination. The Rock’s excessively busy schedule makes booking him for a WWE cameo extremely tough, but there are strong whispers that The Great One will make a presence at Survivor Series in some capacity.

Ringside News exclusively reported that The Rock was never considered for a WrestleMania 38 role in Dallas Texas’ AT&T Stadium. It was because the company already decided where they would like him to perform. Ringside News later exclusively reported that a tenured member of the creative team said that The Rock is a “virtual lock” for WrestleMania 39.

Dave Meltzer went on to discuss this situation Wrestling Observer Radio where he confirmed that The Rock is still in line for a WrestleMania 39 match in L.A. Dwayne Johnson wants to do the match with his cousin Roman Reigns as well.

So the situation with The Rock is exactly what you’d think. The belief is that The Rock wants to do it. They believe that is probably main event, but they are all very aware that there are things that could get in the way and that might not happen, but the working idea is Roman Reigns against The Rock for L.A. But, it is not etched in stone by any means.

That’s been the plan for months, and months, and months, and nothing has changed. They’re of the opinion that he won’t back out and he really wants it, because time is running out on him.

Roman Reigns found his groove after coming back from a brief hiatus back in 2020. Reigns will be squaring off against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38, where both of their titles will be on the line in a winner take all affair. We’ll have to see if The Tribal Chief will walk out of WrestleMania with both titles or not. It seems like plans are already in place for an epic encounter next year.
