Kim Kardashian’s Tone Deaf Remarks Mocked During Oscars Broadcast

Kim Kardashian often trends, but for many different reasons. While in recent times she makes headlines before of the unceasing drama between herself and estranged husband Kanye West, sometimes she ends up saying things that strike an odd chord with her fans.

Kardashian recently said in an interview with Vanity Fair that she has a great advice for women in business. She simply said that they should work hard, which didn’t sit right with the Twitterverse.

The Oscars were truly a spectacle this year, for not only were awards handed out to those who deserve them, a new controversy was born. Hosts have always taken to joke about the celebrities that are present at the event, and this year was no different.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith were among those who didn’t take too kindly to the jokes. However, there were jokes made on the expense of thee 41-year old as well. Hosts Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes took comedic jabs at the SKIMS-founder’s rather unhelpful remark.

Regina said: “Dame Judi Dench … we have an inspirational quote for you.”
Wanda said: “You know because you didn’t win tonight.”
Regina: “A quote from Kim Kardashian … work harder.”

The joke met with a loud roar of laughter. The quote doesn’t sit right with the fans because the Kardashians have often been accused of being handed down their fame and wealth. Dame Judi Dench, the actress who was addressed, received the nomination for Best Supporting Actress in Belfast.
