Update: Chika has broken her silence and assured fans that she is alive.

Original: Chika sent her fans into a state of disarray after she claimed she was feeling suicidal. The music industry has lost many talented individuals due to mental illness and many are concerned. Chika’s recent comments are certainly troublesome and police went to check on her. Unfortunately, we are still in a waiting game situation.

Chika posted a lengthy statement on her social media page that implied she was on the verge of suicide. She made a comment about finding her body as well.

It appears following her shocking social media post, she has gone missing. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that they showed up at Chika’s North Hollywood apartment today to conduct a welfare check. However, they discovered she was not present at her home.

Fans are concerned that Chika might actually carry out the terrifyingly negative thought. The artist has also been posting extra photos and text notes on her IG story, saying people can find her body and that she doesn’t care.

Of course, with her going missing only adds to the speculations. People are sending prayers her way, and hopefully someone on her team or in her inner circle can reach her before something tragic happens.

Chika was named in XXL’s 2020 freshman class, and was nominated for a Grammy last year in the Best New Artist category. She has a ton of talent, but hasn’t been as active in recent years. We’re hoping for the best from everyone here at Thirsty.

If you or someone you know is thinking of suicide, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-TALK.
