Snoop Dogg has worked with musicians from almost every musical genre. However, the Hip Hop Renaissance is currently aiming to team up with the world’s biggest K-Pop group very soon.

The Death Row superstar claimed he’ll be collaborating with BTS in the near future while strolling the red carpet at the American Song Contest. Snoop has already collaborated with South Korean girl group 2NE1 on a song, so this isn’t his first foray into the K-pop industry. While talking to the AV Club, the Doggfather opened up about his plans with BTS.

“I’m going to let them tell you about it. It’s official like a referee with a whistle. I love that entertainment world. It’s good music. It’s [a] vibe. I make good music. They make good music. And we end up doing this. This is what it’s always about, bringing our worlds together.”

Snoop Dogg has always intrigued the five-person boy band, and they’ve expressed their desire to collaborate with him. BTS even included a Doggystyle allusion in 2014’s “Hip Hop Phile” as a nod to Snoop.

Even in January, Snoop Dogg wasn’t convinced of BTS’s significance until his nephew showed him a video of the pop group in which he dubbed BTS the “Asian New Edition.” However, the collaboration is expected to be released later this year.
