Master P rose to prominence in the mid-1990s thanks to the success of his hip hop group TRU and his fifth solo rap album Ice Cream Man. Aside from being a rapper, P has a successful career as an entrepreneur and investor. P has recently stepped up to support tornado victims in New Orleans.

After a deadly tornado ripped through New Orleans, Master P is helping in the recovery effort in his hometown. He’s assembling a team to assist the victims. The rapper told TMZ that his “Team Hope” has 25 people in the area right now.

His friends, family, and other community members make up the team. So far, they’ve assisted over 100 families in NOLA’s 9th Ward by distributing essential supplies and assisting the elderly in filling out damage claim forms.

Most importantly, the crew has begun the rebuilding process by cleaning up the damage and salvaging what they can from destroyed homes. Late Tuesday night, a tornado ripped through several parts of the city, injuring several people and killing at least one. It flipped cars and ripped roofs off houses as it passed through.

Unfortunately, the city and its inhabitants are no strangers to Mother Nature’s wrath, but Master P claims, “New Orleans is stronger together… it’s time to clean up and rebuild. We have done this so many times we have to be thankful for life.” P is grateful because his own relatives narrowly avoided disaster this time, as they live only 7 blocks from where the twister touched down.

When NOLA was reeling from Hurricane Ida last year, Master P’s provided much-needed relief by distributing clean drinking water through one of his businesses.

With his unwavering support, Master P has clearly got their backs. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
