Gable Steveson’s excellent performance at the Tokyo Olympics last year helped establish himself as a well-known name in the world of sports. WWE went the extra mile in getting Steveson to sign a contract as even Vince McMahon personally met up with Steveson to sign him. Steveson has seen huge success yet again by the looks of it.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers star and Olympic gold medalist had a dominant showing this past week. He was also expected to take home his second collegiate national championship this year.

In the finals this week, Gable Steveson successfully defended the NCAA Heavyweight Championship after defeating Cohlton Schultz of Arizona State Saturday night in Detroit, Michigan.

In light of Gable Steveson’s huge accomplishment, WWE also released a statement. They congratulated Steveson on his big win as well.

WWE’s Gable Steveson successfully defended his NCAA Championship Saturday night, defeating Arizona State’s Cohlton Schultz 6-2 to win the tournament final in Detroit.

The Olympic Gold Medalist has now won two NCAA National Titles and three Big Ten Championships as a member of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. Steveson joined the WWE roster in September 2021 in the first-ever exclusive NIL agreement. Steveson would go on to be selected as a member of Raw in the 2021 WWE Draft.

We will have to wait and see whether Gable Steveson will be able to adjust to WWE’s environment and become a huge star there or not first.
