Drake is a veteran musician and that is very likely why younger rappers such as Kodak Black want him as a mentor. He also has a lot of interests outside of making music and that includes expanding his businesses. Drake also won a lawsuit recently.
Drizzy is a global sensation for a variety of reasons and that does not just apply to only his music. Earlier his year, the rapper became a huge meme thanks to his alleged hot sauce stunt.
According to Radar Online, Drake’s team is celebrating a recent legal win after a longstanding battle. This is because a New York judge has given Drake a huge win by dismissing a case stemming from a 2016 concert at Madison Square Garden.
At the concert, a woman named Amanda Giovacco claimed she was injured at the performance and the rapper was responsible for her injury. The woman sued Drake back in July 2019, where she claimed that she “was violently struck by a beer bottle thrown while attending Drake’s concert.
It was claimed that she suffered a traumatic brain injury and seizures from getting hit in the head, adding that it prevented her from going to medical school.
The woman further claimed she was maliciously and subjected to a battery without just cause or provocation. Judge Paul A. Goetz dismissed Amanda Giovacco’s claim against Drake, Live Nation, Madison Square Garden, and Joseph Picco, an MSG employee, on Friday.
“Defendants had no duty to plaintiff and plaintiff’s mother’s testimony that the crowd was extremely rowdy when Drake was on stage is insufficient to create an issue of fact.
The woman failed to make a prima facie showing of negligence by defendants and that her claims are unsupported by a statement of undisputed facts” and “failed to meet her burden with regard to spoliation.”
There is no doubt that Drake is happy that he no longer has to contend with a lawsuit such as the one mentioned above. We’ll have to see what’s next in store for Drake now that he has one less legal woe to deal with.
