Eryk Anders has an impressive professional MMA record of 14 wins and 6 losses. Anders has been fighting for UFC since 2017, last losing to Andre Muniz at UFC 269 by submission. There is no questioning Anders’ toughness. He also played football for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Anders recently met his match in the form of a chainsaw.

TMZ Sports reported that the fighter was chopping down trees near his home. Eryk Anders just wanted to clean up some brush, but he ended up sawing into his foot. Anders talked to TMZ Sports in the aftermath of the injury.

Eryk said he was forced to seek emergency treatment for the gnarly cut. Anders noted that he is a professional fighter, not a lumberjack. As he was cutting, the blade got stuck. That led to him cutting his foot.

“I was cutting down trees, and of course, I was on the last one, and I’m not a professional or nothing. It was a pretty big tree and I was cutting it and the tree leaned into the blade, so it kinda got stuck. With my other hand I reached up to push the tree, and I thought the chainsaw would keep cutting.

I guess I didn’t have any pressure on the chainsaw to keep it moving in that direction and it kind of skipped off the tree and bounced off my foot.”

Eryk said the injury didn’t hurt at the time. He only felt the weight of the chainsaw on his foot. It all happened so fast that Eryk Anders didn’t even know what had happened until he thought about it for a moment. Twenty stitches later and Eryk is already back at the gym. That will be the last time he messes with a chainsaw, but he could be back in the octagon soon.
