Sandra Bullock Cleaned Keanu Reeves’ House After Losing A Bet

Keanu Reeves received critical acclaim for his performance as a hustler in the independent drama My Own Private Idaho, and he established himself as an action hero with leading roles in Point Break and Speed. Sandra Bullock, on the other hand, made her breakthrough in the action thriller Speed alongside Reeves. Sandra recently joked that she cleans Reeves’ house once a week because she “lost a bet” when they made “Speed.”

Sandra Bullock revealed in a red carpet interview with Insider that she only sees her “Speed” co-star Keanu Reeves a few times a year. When asked about her long friendship with the “Matrix” star at the SXSW premiere of her new film “The Lost City” in Austin, Texas on Saturday, Bullock joked that she’s responsible for cleaning up Reeves’ house once a week.

“I clean his house every Thursday. It’s sort of a thing that we had. I lost a bet when we did ‘Speed,’ and I said, ‘Well, if it’s not true, I’ll clean your house.’ I think I’ve done a pretty good job. I mean, I stay out of certain rooms, but, I respect it.” 

“Other than cleaning his house on Thursdays, I see him maybe once or twice a year.”

Bullock and Reeves have previously discussed their crushes on one another while filming “Speed.” In an interview with Esquire in November, Bullock revealed that Reeves once showed up at her house with Champagne and truffles so she could try them after she mentioned she’d never enjoyed the treats at the same time.

“He said, ‘I just thought you might want to try Champagne and truffles, to see what it’s like.'” Back in 2019, Reeves said that he had a crush on Bullock while shooting, but didn’t realize she liked him back. The actor went on to say that they didn’t date because “we were working.” Reeves’ admission came after Bullock admitted in 2018 that she had a crush on him while filming the 1994 thriller — but didn’t realize he was feeling the same way about her.

Bullock told Esquire in November that she was glad she and Reeves never dated because it would have ruined their friendship if things had gone wrong between them.

“But who knows? Keanu’s a guy who, I feel like, is friends with every woman he’s ever dated. I don’t think there’s anyone who has something horrible to say about him. So maybe we could have survived. I don’t know.”

“But we didn’t have to survive anything. We just get to grow up together on parallel roads and tip our hats and meet for a dinner and try to work together. And the longer time goes on, the more in awe I am of the human being.”

“Would I have been able to say that if he had dumped me and made me angry? Probably not.”
