The driver of “Grey’s Anatomy” is accusing LAPD of racially abusing him after he was pulled over at gunpoint and arrested in front of the entire cast, but shortly after that, the police realized that they had the wrong guy.

Ernest Simon Jr, black by color said that he was pulled over in front of the entire crew near Tarzana, CA set in March 2021. In his lawsuit, he mentioned that the officer told him that his automated license plate reader was linked to a BMW sedan that was stolen. But at that time he was driving a Ford van.

Ernest says that the parking attendant already informed the police officers that Ernest was a part of the show’s crew but still the cops arrested him and even called for backup. According to TMZ at least 7 police cars came to the scene and they even called for helicopter support.

The other crew member’s effort to stop the arrest was in vain as the cops refused to listen to them and yelled at them, “Get out of the line of fire.” Ernest shared that the chaos continued for half an hour until a white male co-worker informed the officers that they are being mistaken.

After this, the cops took off the handcuffs and released Ernest but Ernest thinks that this incident was not a rare one because in Tarzana, 70.7 percent of the population are white and only 3.6 percent are Black. He has filed a lawsuit against LAPD for $20 million stating that he was racially profiled violating the 4th Amendment rights and using force.
