The Los Angeles Lakers may have seen their season end symbolically last night in Minnesota. The Lakers fell to 29-40 after the 124-104 loss. The playoffs have become a pipe dream and the team has become a dumpster fire. The Timberwolves made sure to rub some extra salt into the wound.

After Russell Westbrook threw up a brick, Karl-Anthony Towns made a gesture as if somebody opened a door and let in a gust of wind. The T-Wolves broadcast team had some fun with it. Minnesota wasn’t done trolling just yet.

Later in the game, Patrick Beverly openly called Westbrook “trash” multiple times after a steal turned into an easy transition bucket. Beverly later flexed on LeBron James. Pat screamed in the superstar’s face as the first half wound down with Minnesota comfortably ahead.

The hometown crowd loved every second of it. There was a ton of energy in the arena throughout the game. The big bad Lakers were finally getting their just desserts.

After the game, Russell Westbrook said the trash-talking doesn’t bother him. Russ said that nobody on Minnesota’s team has ever done anything in the league. The irony was not lost that Westbrook will likely be sitting at home for the playoffs while the T-Wolves compete for a championship.

The game was a microcosm of a lost season for the Lakers. LeBron James said months ago that the team didn’t have any chemistry. It looks like they are also lacking in heart, teamwork, and basketball skill.
