Kevin Durant has never been one to keep his mouth shut about anything. The Brooklyn Nets star is always willing to defend a teammate or even criticize a youth basketball game. During last night’s game between the Brooklyn Nets and Dallas Mavericks, KD got the fans involved, too.

It was not the normal situation where a visiting player chirps with fans of the opposing team. The game was in Brooklyn. A courtside fan at Barclays Center told Durant he needed to take control of the game.

A frustrated Kevin Durant took a moment to digest the fan’s suggestion. Then, he unleashed. Durant even invoked some profanity in his response.

“You’ve got to shut the f*ck up and sit down.”

Durant was as close to in control of the game as any Nets player. It was a home game, so Kyrie Irving once again had to sit out due to New York’s COVID regulations. KD dropped a double-double with 23 points and 10 assists.

That wasn’t enough to overcome the Mavs. Luka Condic scored 37 while adding 9 rebounds and 9 assists in the winning effort. Durant’s frustration might be justified. The Nets are dangerously close to falling out of the Eastern Conference playoff picture.
