Arnold Schwarzenegger isn’t just one of the biggest action stars in the history of Hollywood. Arnold has been the governor of California and an advocate for freedom and human rights around the world. Schwarzenegger is now encouraging the people of Russia to stand up against their leader, Vladimir Putin.

Arnold shared a video on several social media outlets, including Telegram, that he hopes will find its way to the Russian populace, and, ultimately to Putin himself. Schwarzenegger shared a story about his childhood hero, Yuri Petrovich Vlasov. Arnold was in awe of the Russian bodybuilder, who he believed was the strongest man in the world.

Arnold has great respect for the people of Russia, their culture, and their spirit. The video attempted to paint the Russian people as victims of a cruel propaganda campaign that has resulted in an unwarranted war with their closest neighbor. At the end of the clip, Schwarzenegger issued a plea to the citizens of Russia and Vladimir Putin himself.

“So, I urge the Russian people and the Russian soldiers in Ukraine to understand the propaganda and the disinformation that you are being told. I ask you to help me spread the truth. Let your fellow Russians know the human catastrophe that is happening in Ukraine.

And, to President Putin, I say, you started this war. You are leading this war. You can stop this war.

Now, let me close with a message to all of the Russians who have been protesting in the streets against the invasion of Ukraine. The world has seen your bravery. We know that you have suffered the consequences of your courage. You have been arrested, you have been jailed, and you have been beaten. You are my new heroes. You have the strength of Yuri Petrovich Vlasov. You have the true heart of Russia.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger joins a growing list of celebrities, corporations, and governments who have expressed their support for Ukraine. Arnold is incredibly influential in eastern Europe. Hopefull that leads to some Russian minds being able to see through the propaganda that has led to Putin’s disastrous military campaign.
