T.I. has ventured beyond music to become a successful entrepreneur and actor. He’s hosted Netflix series, hosted his own reality shows, and even appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the past weeks, the rapper has dabbled in stand-up comedy. T.I. and Godfrey had a minor squabble a few weeks ago after the Atlanta rapper made his stand-up comedy debut, and it appears that Nick Cannon was the one to put an end to the feud.

Tip received applause from a number of people, but he and Godfrey had some disagreements. T.I. appeared as a surprise guest after the comedian finished his set as the headliner in Atlanta. “As a headliner, no one is supposed to go up after you,” Godfrey said, prompting a heated response from the rapper.

T.I. and Godfrey later reconciled by calling into Godfrey’s podcast, but it appears that Nick Cannon had to intervene first. During an appearance on The Breakfast Club, Godfrey revealed that he never actually berated T.I. for attempting comedy. After his sets, he said he went to the green room to decompress, and the video of him explaining it on his podcast went viral.

“I didn’t know him to do comedy so I’m not going to watch. Not saying he shouldn’t be doing comedy. I’m just a headliner. I just finished. It was for that moment. But I know somebody took that excerpt of me saying that, showed it to T.I., and then T.I. was in the woods. You know when T.I. goes in the woods at that angle. I just want to say somethin’ that’s on my heart. I gotta expeditiously take care of this situation. and I was like, ‘Aw sh*t.'”

Godfrey explained that the comments about T.I. quickly went viral, and he began receiving calls from the fellow comic in the South. He explained that T.I. performing a stand-up set after wrapping up his headlining set was similar to T.I. performing a concert and then unexpectedly, a comedian jumped on stage to debut new music.

Godfrey eventually called Nick Cannon, who put them both on FaceTime to talk about their problems. Godfrey stated that he had a great conversation with T.I., referring to the rapper as a “GOAT.”

Godfrey must be grateful to Nick for resolving the misunderstanding. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
