Eminem is a hip-hop legend and no one can deny it. Eminem has given us a wave of songs that define a generation. He still keeps on breaking records with his recent one being certified platinum on one of his albums.

On Thursday, March 10th, Em’s eleventh studio album “Music To Be Murdered By” was certified platinum on RIAA. Infinite, his first studio album, has no current certification. This album was released with no prior announcement, in a similar fashion to his previous studio album Kamikaze (2018). It earned 279,000 album-equivalent units sales in its first week.

This became Eminem’s tenth US number-one album and made him one of six artists to have released at least ten number-one albums. The album also accumulated a total of 217.6 million on-demand streams for the album’s tracks. Eventually, Music to Be Murdered By became the 9th best-selling album of 2020 in the United States.

Recently MTBMB has completed its 2 years anniversary. Marshall’s most recent album is also his fifth to earn 2.5 billion Spotify streams. So far, MTBMB has been charting longer than the likes of “Encore”, “Kamikaze”, and “Relapse”.

The album was critically acclaimed to be Em’s one of the best, some even claiming it to be the best of 2020. On this album, despite its handful of flaws, Em shows strong signs of adapting to the times through modern musical choices and smarter songwriting. The album not only shows his usual lyrical masterpiece but also takes a page from modern hip-hop under its belt.

As Em takes one more of his albums across the platinum mark, he cements himself more firmly as one of the greatest. You can listen to Songs Music To Be Murdered By from down below:
