Young Rock has been a surprise hit for NBC. The sitcom follows the exploits of a young Dwayne Johnson as his father works in the pro wrestling business. The slice-of-life period comedy has attracted pro wrestling fans and casual viewers alike due to its unique setting and stories.

Chavo Guerrero is a well-known wrestler who helps produce the wrestling segments for Young Rock. Chavo was in charge of the same thing for the popular Netflix series, GLOW. Guerrero’s experience in the ring and on camera has allowed him to pull off some great sequences with people who aren’t necessarily trained, pro wrestlers or athletes.

In a recent interview with The Wrestling Inc. Daily, Chavo said he worked to help cast an All Elite Wrestling star for a role in season two. Guerrero didn’t reveal who that wrestler is. Chavo was just happy to help get a wrestler some exposure.

“It’s only beneficial to whatever company I end up at because the projects that I am working on are usually all wrestling projects. So I have the ability when they start casting, whatever organization I am working for, get their guys looked at. It’s a no-brainer.

In fact, I don’t want to say who it is, because I don’t think I can talk about it yet. But for Young Rock season two, I helped cast a guy from AEW on it. I won’t say a name yet, but he played a great part and he was awesome. But that was a great working relationship, because I was like, ‘Oh, AEW, perfect.’ It works great.”

Chavo Guerrero has had some issues recently with AEW boss Tony Khan. Chavo said he was ghosted by Khan after doing several appearances for the company. While AEW and Chavo sort out their differences, Guerrero has found a nice niche in Hollywood.
