LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are reaching the point of no return for this season’s playoff hopes. Another crushing loss at Crypto.com Arena has the team reeling. The worst part of all is the fact that the defeat meant a season series sweep for the rival LA Clippers.

The Lakers have been struggling mightily on the defensive side of the ball. Injuries and a lack of chemistry have made the team a shadow of their former championship glory. The NBA has been feasting on Los Angeles since the All-Star break.

LeBron gave it his best shot against the Clippers, contributing 26 points and 8 rebounds. It was not nearly enough. The Clippers walked away with an easy 132-111 win. After the game, LeBron said the Lakers’ rivals are simply the better team.

“Coming into the game, we knew how great of a 3-point shooting team they are. You give them multiple looks and they’re going to knock them down. We gave them too many open looks and then once the open looks started going in even the contested ones started going in, too.

They’re a great shooting team and it’s also another win for them. They’ve been a better team.”

The Lakers are now a season-worst 8 games under .500. The playoffs are slipping away fast. This could be a very long offseason for fans in Los Angeles.
