Paul Dano has given some of the most intense performances in many Hollywood movies. While his performances in “There Will Be Blood,” “Prisoners” and “12 Years A Slave,” are some of the cornerstones of his acting abilities, his shined through once again by playing a villain on The Batman.
Dano played the role of The Riddler, who is an extremely chaotic character and is elemental to the story from beginning to end. While his acting is incredible in the film, director Matt Reeves recently revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that the actor took about 200 takes to get one scene with The Riddler just right.
Reeves revealed the detail on Dano’s profile from the outlet following the release of the superhero flicked. The director said that he sat in the opposite room to Dano while he requested reshoots after reshoots of the scene.
The Batman director said that the scene involved Robert Pattinson is seeing a cellphone video of The Riddler speaking to him. Dano requested several takes for this sequence while “directing this one-person play on an iPhone.”
Reeves added that Dano was “very critical of himself.” Dano accompanies the star-studded cast of The Batman alongside Zoë Kravitz, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, Peter Sarsgaard and Colin Farrell.
