The Making The Band saga continues, as Diddy continues to be scrutinized. In the early 2000s, Sean Combs took over as the series’ leader, and the show became an MTV hit. Day 26 and Danity Kane were among the artists to emerge from the platform, but one of the more talked-about seasons was that of the disbanded Rap trio Da Band.

Their season spawned a slew of memes and great Hip Hop moments, including Dave Chappelle’s reworking of their struggle for Chappelle’s Show sketches. Diddy forced them to walk miles across New York City to pick up his favorite cheesecake and shut down the studio for the umpteenth time due to their squabbles, and now, one of Da Band’s members, Freddy P, is adding his voice to the discussion over the show.

Day 26’s Willie Taylor recently said that Making The Band set up young artists for failure, and Freddy P had a similar complaint in his Instagram post.

God knows if I was @diddy I would’ve done WAY MORE FOR THESE KIDS. Any real ninja would’ve.. You start out JUST CHASING A DREAM. Then it QUICKLY GET SNATCHED AWAY.. Made me NEVER WANT TO RAP. God gone have the last laugh. My talent was given to me to touch hearts and homes an it was silenced. You silenced Gods plan. Everyone who ever took part will depart horribly from

People don’t understand what I’ve been through. This year alone I’ve contemplated suicide two or three times. I done pictured my brother walking in, finding me dead. I cry thinking about leaving my son, because it just gets tired of life. It’s like, no matter what you try to do, you just gotta keep battling. N****** wanna see you fall. It’s these n****** like Puffy, he my main motherf*ckin’ reason why I really hate f*ckin’ life, dog. People don’t even understand.

He has gotten a huge outpouring of popular support. Few of Diddy’s clips from the original show that surfaced on Twitter display Diddy meaning mean to those would-be signees on the series pandering to him. Some are even considering Diddy a villain in the wake of this. Freddy P shares his heartfelt story in the video below.
