If you’ve watched Euphoria, you know for a fact that the show has a lot of nudity! This has led to a lot of criticism in the second season.

In the HBO series, nudity is very much common not just in the female cast but also in the male cast members have stripped down multiple times. Jacob Elordi spoke about how he’s comfortable with the show’s nudity on Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday.

Jacob Elordi, on Ellen DeGeneres, jokes about how he says he has “no choice” but to take off his shirt in the show. “It’s like every scene is like he sleeps with this person, he does this with this person naked,” when Ellen points out that being shirtless makes sense with the context of the scene. “I’ve done some movies where it gets to the point where it’s like, he goes to the mall shirtless. And you’re like, why?”

“I think on Euphoria it comes with the territory of the character, he’s this ultra-masculine, macho jock, so those guys tend to get around pretty shirtless so it’s sort of okay,” the actor added.

The 24-year old Australian actor mentioned that HBO had provided the cast with an intimacy coordinator, who he described as “second mother” because of how protective she is. Nate, Jacob’s character on Euphoria says about her, “”She’s like, ‘Are you uncomfortable? Are you okay?'” he said. “To the point where you’re like, ‘Yeah, yeah, I’m fine.'”

He said, “It’s like getting naked in front of your family.” since he’s been working with the crew for a long time now! Ellen then replied, “Which also is weird… Just to let you know, in this country that’s weird. I don’t know about Australia.”

Sydney Sweeny, who plays Cassie, also talked about how the series creator and write Sam Levinson is okay with making changes to a scene where nudity isn’t absolutely necessary.

“I’ve never felt like Sam has pushed it on me or was trying to get a nude scene into an HBO show,” she told  The Independent in an interview. “When I didn’t want to do it, he didn’t make me.”

Eric Dane who plays Nate’s Dad Cal on the show also added while talking about the extent of nudity, “As long as it’s purposeful in the context of the story, then I think it’s useful.”
