Zendaya and Labrinth released a gospel-inspired song, “I’m Tired” which was featured in season 2 of Euphoria. Obviously, like anything else MJ from Spider-Man does, this is garnering a lot of attention.
Zendaya has another hit track added to her list. The lead actress of the hit HBO series and the show’s score composer, Labrinth released the full-length version of their song “I’m Tired.”
Zendaya is as usual amazing with her voice. “Hey Lord, you know I’m fighting / Hey Lord, you know, I’ll find it,” she sings in their gospel-inspired duet. “I don’t know when or how today / Hey Lord, I’m on my way.”
Euphoria fans got a snippet of the song in the fourth episode during a scene where Rue, Zendaya’s character imagines herself in a church sharing a moment with Labrinth as he sings the song in the background.
The remainder of the track was included in the season finale, where fans got to hear Zendaya sing. In the season finale, Zendaya reaches a moment of clarity in her journey of sobriety.
On Monday, Zendaya shared a clip while recording “I’m Tired” in the studio with Labrinth, praising him for their work. She wrote, “Thank you bro for allowing me to write, create and share space with you on this very special song. I learn so much from you every time we work. Excited for what’s to come,”
Labrinth also posted a muted clip on Instagram last month, where the two of them could be seen nodding their heads in the studio. He captioned the video, “In her own words ‘we got something even better for y’all, that was just a taste’ @zendaya“
Labrinth said, “Me and Zendaya were actually sitting in each other’s spiritual energy and space, and we’re getting to inspire each other to make something fresh,”
“The cast are not just acting, they’re part of the music now,” the musician added. “And I think that makes it even more special.”
The duo first worked together for the season 1 finale track, “All For Us” where Zendaya sang in a cinematic dance performance.
The season 2 finale also featured music from new cast member Dominic Fike, who portrays Elliot in Euphoria. He sang “Little Star” which was written by Zenday and Labrinth.
The first two seasons of the Emmy-winning series are available to stream on HBO.
