Kobe Bryant is one of the few elite athletes who needs no introduction. The world sadly lost Kobe along with his daughter Gigi in a tragic helicopter accident in 2020. Bryant’s legacy has lived on through his wife, his contributions to basketball, and through all kinds of stories about his generosity.

When Chandler Parsons was a rookie in 2012, it was hard not to be starstruck by Kobe’s aura. Chandler was just a young player trying to find his footing in the NBA. Parsons didn’t expect much more than to experience pure domination as a new face taking on Kobe Bryant.

Parsons recently appeared on “All The Smoke” with Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes. Chandler shared a story of Kobe’s legendary generosity. During the final quarter of a game between Parsons’ Houston Rockets and Bryant’s Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe approached him and made an amazing offer.

Kobe Bryant asked the rookie if he was staying in LA after the game. Kobe told him he planned to take care of him if that was the case. What happened next was beyond Chandler’s wildest dreams.

Kobe sent Chandler a text later that evening. Bryant had set up reservations for Chandler and his teammates at the posh Supper Club. The bill came to a staggering $22,000.

Parsons was worried that Kobe had stuck him with the bill when it arrived. To his surprise, the waitress asked him to sign for Mr. Bryant. Kobe had already taken care of it.

Chandler Parsons even kept the texts from Kobe Bryant on that night. Kobe didn’t make a big fuss about the generous act. That is one of the many reasons why he will forever be remembered as an NBA legend.
