Cain Velasquez is considered one of the greatest UFC heavyweights ever to grace the octagon. The legendary fighter now faces an entirely different battle. Velasquez was arrested in San Jose, California for attempted murder. Police have now released Cain’s mugshot.

Velasquez looked intense and serious in the photo. The photo looks like any other where a fighter is preparing for a huge bout. This time, the battle will rage in a courtroom.

San Jose police reported that Cain Velasquez was arrested yesterday in connection with a shooting. Cain was booked into the Santa Clara County jail. There is no known motive and circumstance at this time, according to a tweet by the department.

“Cain Velasquez was the suspect arrested yesterday in connection with this incident. He was booked into Santa Clara County main jail for attempted murder. The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation at this time.”

Santa Clara County jail records show that Velasquez is being held without bond. There is a court date scheduled for Wednesday at noon Pacific time. More details should start trickling out after that.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Cain Velasquez has not fought in UFC since being embarrassed by Francis Ngannou in 2019. Cain will now focus on his legal case, where there appears to be plenty of evidence against him.
