Kevin Durant came within inches of eliminating the eventual NBA champion Milwaukee Bucks from the playoffs last year. During game seven of last year’s playoff series between the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee, Durant hit a fadeaway at the buzzer to send the game to overtime. The Nets ultimately lost and the Bucks went on to raise the trophy.

A replay of the shot showed that Durant was a toenail away from the shot being a three-pointer. That would’ve won the game for Brooklyn in regulation. NBA history would be completely different.

Durant returned to Milwaukee as the Nets took on the Bucks this weekend. Before the game, KD was having some fun with the fans while waiting for the game to start. Durant told the fan that this year, he planned on winning it all. The fan responded with a burn that could be felt for miles.

“You gotta get that 1 inch smaller shoe!”

Durant laughed and walked back onto the court for player introductions. Kyrie Irving ended up going off on the defending champions for 38 points. The Nets walked out with a 126-123 win.

It could be a preview for yet another exciting playoff matchup this year. Durant and the Nets are focused after acquiring Ben Simmons and dumping James Harden in a blockbuster trade deadline deal. There is plenty of material there to make the potential series a wild one.
