Memphis has recently experienced a lot of tragedy in the rap scene. Snootie Wild is the latest hip-hop artist to die in Memphis, following Young Dolph’s death in late 2021. He took a gunshot in his neck and chest on 25th February and was in critical condition. The rapper tragically passed away due to these injuries.

The Memphis rapper Snootie Wild scored several hits on Yo Gotti’s Collective Music Group label. Snootie and his mentor Yo Gotti, who signed Snootie to Gotti’s Collective Music Group label in 2013, have long been shining stars for the city. The two teamed for their popular song “Yayo” a year later in 2014, which helped Snootie’s career.

Snootie was discovered with a bullet wound in his neck in south Houston, TX on Friday morning (Feb. 25). According to authorities, shooting was reported in the vicinity about 2 a.m., and Snootie was rushed to the hospital after being discovered in a ditch near to an SUV with a gunshot wound.

Snootie, on the other hand, was not dead when he arrived at the hospital, and was in serious condition, according to his official Facebook account. Lieutenant Willkens of the Houston Police Department stated what happened that night.

It looks like he backed in there (the ditch) accidentally. Then the other vehicle pulled up, and folks got out of the car. They were talking for a little bit, and then all of a sudden, gunfire went off. Only one shot, actually.

Snootie died in the hospital on Friday (Feb. 25) after doctors were unable to save him. There have yet to be any suspects identified. Sonny Digitial, Boosie Badazz, and K Camp, among others, expressed their sympathies for Snootie Wild. Our prayers are with Snootie Wild’s family and friends. RIP.
