Method Man Says His Price Went Up After Winning NAACP Image Award

Method Man’s Power Book II: Ghost is a spinoff of 50 Cent’s wildly popular Power series. On Saturday February 26th the 53rd NAACP Image Awards were presented to a slew of artists and entertainers. There Method Man won the NAACP Imagine Award in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category.

Blige and Method Man both took home trophies for their roles. Meth is routinely commended for his acting on the show. However he might not have known just how popular his role was until the NAACAP win.

Shortly after he was presented with the honor he was seen celebrating with some self proclamation on instagram. The Wu-Tang Clan legend shared an Instagram post celebrating the award and declared his “price just went up”.

“Congratulations to Cliff #MethodMan Smith – Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series – Power Book II: Ghost. #NAACPImageAwards”.

The comment section erupted with congratulatory remarks from his famous friends. From Lil Cease and DJ Scratch to Busta Rhymes and B-Real, his peers were elated by Method Man’s success. “SUPER PROUD OF YOU KING!!!!” Bus-A-Bus wrote in all caps while Raekwon told his fellow Wu-Tang legend “You deserve it”.

Method Man is presumably extremely proud of his All I Need collaborator Mary J. Blige as well. In a November 2021 interview with Metro he revealed he thinks 50 Cent’s STARZ series was created with the R&B singer in mind.

Power Book II: Ghost was recently renewed for a third season and will find Meth, Blige and executive producer 50 Cent reprising their roles.
