Scarlett Johansson is the most recent celebrity to enter the world of cosmetics. On March 1, Scarlett Johansson’s skincare line, The Outset, will be available for purchase.
The 37-year-old “Black Widow” actress previously stated that she would launch a skincare brand in 2021, and now fans are getting a sneak peek. The Outset, Johansson’s new company, now has a website and an Instagram account, with the latter now featuring a series of black-and-white photographs, including one of the movie star’s famed profile.
Scarlett expressed her intentions for The Outset to be a “truly universal and accessible brand” in a video alongside co-founder Kate Foster. In the March issue of Vogue, Johansson said, “I’ve been the face of several luxury brands throughout my career, and all of those experiences were really wonderful.”
“I guess I always felt that I was sort of playing a character in those campaigns, and as I evolved, I wanted to create and represent a brand that was true to me.”
Fans appear to be anticipating the release, as the Instagram feed has quickly accumulated nearly 30,000 followers. It’s unclear what goods the company will provide right now, though an Instagram image from Tuesday shows four of the upcoming lotions and potions. Clean, botanical elements are emphasized in tag lines like “do more with less” and “find freedom in the uncomplicated.” Colin Jost, Johansson’s husband, is observing and making a joke on one of the images of the actress.
Not only has Kylie Jenner, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow, and others had great success in the cosmetics industry, but John Legend, Lori Harvey, and Hailey Baldwin are also poised to release their own skincare brands this year. Kim Kardashian has announced that her KKW Beauty line will be rebranded to include skincare as well.
