America’s Got Talent fans woke up to sad news today. Jane “Nightbirde” Marczewski made waves on the show after debuting an original song that blew the judge’s minds. Jane had to withdraw halfway through her season to focus on battling metastatic breast cancer.

Nightbirde was diagnosed with the disease in 2017. Marczewski went into remission and appeared on the road to recovery. The cancer spread, though, and doctors gave her a 2% chance of survival. Jane passed away on Sunday, making her the third AGT star to die in the past three months. Skilyr Hicks died in December. She was preceded by Jay Jay Phillips.

AGT judge Howie Mandel posted a note reflecting on Jane Maczewski. Howie said he was lucky to have met her and heard her sing, according to TMZ. Jane was an inspiration to the entire AGT cast.

“[Jane] was such a bright inspirational light in all our lives. We must continue to live and learn from her words and lyrics. As much as I feel horribly about her passing I feel lucky to have met, heard and known her.”

Even Simon Cowell was impressed with Jane Marczewski’s talent. The notoriously bitter judge gave Nightbirde a very rare golden buzzer after her performance. Many believed she would have won if she didn’t have to pull out.

The world has lost a truly unique talent. Jane “Nightbirde” Marczewski brought joy into the lives of millions of people through her music. Everybody at Thirsty sends our thoughts out to Jane’s family in this very difficult time.
