Beavis and Butt-Head lampooned an entire generation of couch potatoes. Creator Mike Judge used the very medium he was spoofing to deliver his message to a lost generation. The hit animated series ran for years on MTV despite existing to make fun of the network.

The show was ubitiquous throughout the 1990s. Beavis and Butt-Head appeared on late-night talk shows. They even had their own movie with Beavis and Butt-Head Do America. There was no escaping the two cartoon idiots and their surreal adventures.

Beavis and Butt-Head had a brief revival in 2010 when MTV decided to try the show out with a new generation. Instead of strictly music videos, the dynamic duo watched Jersey Shore and UFC fights. It lasted one year and was canceled again. Now, streaming service Paramount+ has announced via Twitter that new episodes are on the way. There will also be a brand new Beavis and Butt-Head movie.

“This July, #ParamountPlus is premiering an exclusive Beavis and Butt-Head movie, followed by brand-new episodes!”

In the concept artwork included in the tweet, Beavis and Butt-Head appear to be all grown up. The show has depicted older versions of the two in fantasy sequences, but this could mean the revival will follow the exploits of the pair as adults. That could offer a whole new angle of hilarity.

There is no specific release date for the movie or the new episodes. Fans will have to keep their eyes peeled for further announcements. We do know that there will be brand new Beavis and Butt-Head content coming this Summer. What more could you ask for?
