Chris Pine rose to mainstream success for his roles in Star Trek as James T. Kirk in the Star Trek reboot film series. He is most definitely known for his signature clean-shaven look. However, his current appearance is a far cry from that.
The 41-year-old Star Trek star was recently spotted rocking a bushy grey beard and thick wavy locks. This paired with almost shoulder-length hair, which he had pulled back to tie into a half ponytail. Most of us only know him for clean-cut looks.
Chris’s recent day trip comes right on the heels of the news that he is set to makhis directorial debut with a comedy-mystery movie named Poolman.
In the mystery-comedy, Pine portrays a “hapless dreamer and would-be philosopher” who spends his day looking after the pool of Tahitian Tiki apartment block in sunny Los Angeles,” according to Deadline. Pine plays Darren in the film, who eventually becomes aware of the water heist and then launches into a series of film noir misadventures that include a femme fatale.
Poolman is also featuring Annette Bening and Danny DeVito. So it might not be a wild guess to think that his new look has something to with his latest role; after all, almost every historical philosopher is depicted with long hair and overgrown beard.
