Elizabeth Lyn Vargas of The Real Housewives of Orange County recently had a very scary situation inside her own home. Vargas was allegedly taken hostage by her ex-boyfriend who barricaded himself inside the home. SWAT officers surrounded the property during the intense scene.

Police responded after Vargas called 911 to report an extortion attempt. Elizabeth believed her ex was on his way and that he’d been acting aggressively recently. The ex, whom she briefly dated, was said to have been making financial demands of the reality star.

The responding officers spoke to Elizabeth Vargas and decided to watch the house from a distance. The ex was able to enter the home. He was believed to have been armed, according to TMZ.

The ex-boyfriend then roughed Elizabeth up. Eventually, she was allowed to leave. Liz was spotted exiting in a white robe.

After a short while, the man gave himself up and surrendered to the police. Liz was left completely traumatized by the ordeal. Manager David Weintraub spoke about the experience.

“Liz is completely traumatized, and spent the entire night with police. She is so thankful to the Newport Beach Department, and the officers who saved her from this terrible incident. She is looking forward to getting back to a normal life.”

Fortunately, Liz Vargas is OK. It was certainly within her rights to be terrified. Hopefully, she gets whatever help she needs and can carry on with her usual life.
