Whoopi Goldberg was suspended from The View after remarks she made about the Holocaust not being about race. She will be back in around two weeks, but her co-hosts aren’t happy about her forced hiatus. AOC seems to be with them.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez spoke to TMZ’s camera and they asked her about Whoopi’s current situation. The New York congresswoman seems to be on the Sister Act actress’ side.

AOC commented that Whoopi has already been forgiven, so she doesn’t get why a suspension needed to take place. She feels that Whoopi has learned her lesson.

The way AOC sees it, Whoopi has a good track record with Jewish people and she meant no harm in her statements. Jonathan Greenblatt also accepted Whoopi Goldberg’s apology which you can find in the video below.

Whoopi Goldberg will have plenty of time to think as she has a two-week break from The View. We’ll have to see what she might say next to trigger someone, but odds are she will choose her words carefully from now on.

With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
