Sean Penn won two Academy Awards for his performances in the mystery drama Mystic River and the biopic Milk. Penn appears to be a closed-minded individual who still believes that men should wear shirts and pants. Sean recently chastised men for wearing skirts and sparked a bit of controversy.

Sean Penn has reaffirmed his belief that men in American culture have become overly feminized. The actor and his daughter Dylan were interviewed by The Independent for a profile published on Thursday, in which the Mystic River actor was asked to clarify comments he made to another newspaper.

“I am in the club that believes that men in American culture have become wildly feminized… I don’t think that [in order] to be fair to women, we should become them.”

Penn told The Independent that “men have, in my view, become quite feminized.”

“I have these very strong women in my life who do not take masculinity as a sign of oppression toward them. There are a lot of, I think, cowardly genes that lead to people surrendering their jeans and putting on a skirt.”

Regardless of Penn’s opinions, a number of high-profile music stars have recently entered the fashion game with iconic dressed-up looks. Post Malone wore a custom plaid dress chosen by his stylist Catherine Hahn for his Billboard cover story, which was published this week and depicted the ultimate “mountain hideaway.” The Grammy-nominated artist also took the stage at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards in a punk-inspired skirt, knee-high socks, and chunky loafers to accept nine awards, including the all-genre top artist award.

Harry Styles is no stranger to high fashion, having worn a stunning Gucci gown for his December 2020 Vogue cover and later dressing up as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz for his sold-out 2021 Harryween show at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

Styles responded to conservative commentator Candace Owens’ call to “bring back manly men” following the release of the Vogue cover in an interview with Variety. “To not wear [something] because it’s females’ clothing, you shut out a whole world of great clothes.” Styles explained. “And I think what’s exciting about right now is you can wear what you like. It doesn’t have to be X or Y. Those lines are becoming more and more blurred.”

Men clearly look stunning in skirts, proving that fashion knows no gender. There will always be those who will criticize them. These celebrities are living their lives in their own unique way, and it’s wonderful that their fans support them as well. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
