The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson, will be the actor’s first venture as the Caped Crusader. The film is set to be a completely different take on Batman than shown in previous franchises. It seems the film won’t include a major aspect of Batman’s character origin.

Pattinson’s reveal was met with a lot of mixed reactions from fans, as many doubted Pattinson could do the Caped Crusader justice. Pattinson also made it clear he was afraid of offending Batman fans.

The film will feature one of Batman’s most iconic characters as Catwoman will be present. Zoe Kravitz will portray the role of Catwoman. Fans got to see her in action previously as well.

While speaking to Esquire, director Matt Reeves revealed that the upcoming film will not include Batman’s origin story where Bruce Wayne’s parents are murdered in an alley. This is because the origin story has been done to death in various mediums already.

“We’ve seen it so many times. It’s been done too much. I knew we couldn’t do that.”

The film will also be the longest-ever Batman movie to date. The film is set to release on March 4, 2022. We will have to see how the film turns out to be and if it will be able to live up to fan expectations, especially when it comes to Batman and Catwoman’s portrayals.

This is a huge relief for anyone who wants a Batman story without his backstory. Everyone knows that his parents were murdered and he lives in Wayne Manor with the Batcave below. Hopefully, this new film will get right to the action. With an almost three-hour runtime there is a lot of potential.
