Ed Sheeran has been doing a lot of thinking lately. The insanely popular musician is well known for his struggles with depression and mental health issues. Ed said even something as simple as an episode of South Park could ruin his life. The singer has also been contemplating his mortality, spending millions on his own burial chamber.

Sheeran has taken some steps to improve his situation. One of the worst triggers for Ed was his cell phone. In a recent interview with The Collector’s Edition, Sheeran opened up about how ditching the cell phone saved his mental health.

“I got really, really overwhelmed and sad with the phone. I just spent my whole time in a very low place.

It was, like, a veil just lifted… I didn’t so much cut contact with people, I just limit contact with people. Now, I have an email… and every few days, I’ll sit down and open up my laptop and I’ll answer 10 emails at a time… And then I’ll go back to living life and I don’t feel overwhelmed by it.”

The “Shape of You” star said he can now enjoy personal moments without being interrupted by the lure of more screen time. Almost everyone can relate to the stress and anxiety being glued to your phone brings. Ed Sheeran simply cut it out of his life.

Ed has taken a positive step to make his life better. Sheeran should be applauded for that. Hopefully Ed finds whatever peace he’s seeking as he reorganizes the way he interacts with people.
