Earl Sweatshirt kicked off the new year with a bang, releasing SICK!, his much awaited fourth studio album. Over three years had gone since the Chicago-based rapper released an album, but some of his more seasoned reviewers aren’t giving this one a chance.

Joe Budden, who has had beef with Earl since the rapper mocked him in a sketch comedy event with Odd Future, declared on his podcast last week that he has no intention of listening to SICK!

I’m just being honest this year. Hell no, I ain’t hear that bullsh*t! And I’ll tell you what, I’m never gonna hear it! I am never gonna hear that. That sh*t could be Thriller. When would I put that on?

Following Joe Budden’s announcement that he will not be listening to his new album, Earl Sweatshirt jokes on Twitter. Despite the fact that he did not name any individual artists, the general public concluded he was talking to Earl Sweatshirt, who appeared to respond with a tweet on Tuesday night.

Earl, like Joe, didn’t name the podcaster by name, but his supporters assumed it was meant at him because he mentioned his “twin.” What are your thoughts on Earl Sweatshirt’s new album, SICK!, and his response to Joe Budden’s slam? Sound off in the comments!
