Mike Tyson shocked fans when he returned to the ring for an exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr. Tyson was in incredible physical condition for the fight. Many fans wanted Iron Mike to try and make a comeback to the professional ranks.

Jake Paul has made a career out of fighting washed up athletes with little or no professional boxing experience. Paul’s arrogance and approach to the sport have angered many purists. They’ve wanted to see Mike Tyson knock Paul out since the first time Paul put on a pair of gloves.

That wishful thinking combined with Paul constantly running his mouth about a potential matchup with Tyson has led to a lot of wild rumors. It was reported earlier this month that Mike Tyson was close to a deal to fight Jake Paul. Tyson has stated multiple times that he has no interest in the match. Mike re-emphasized his complete lack of interest in an appearance on the Full Send podcast.

“It was all word of mouth and stuff, I don’t know. I’m not even interested in doing this stuff. It’s fun. If it was back when I first started, yes, and we were both fighting on the same card, we were both active, yeah I would do it. But it’s just turned out bad, it’s not going to turn out right.

Every twelve or thirteen months, there is something missing like boom, I’m losing muscle mass. I wanted to do it the first time just for fun, other people took it to the financial level and I didn’t enjoy it anymore.”

It doesn’t sound like Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson will happen any time soon. Disappointed fans will have to wait to see who Paul lines up as his next opponent. Mike Tyson doesn’t want to do it for anything but a love of the game. Jake Paul doesn’t do those kinds of fights.
