Virgil Abloh was a legend in the world of fashion. The hip hop community took to his Chicago street style. Abloh was a close friend to many rappers, including Kanye West. Virgil sadly passed away at the age of 41 last November.

Abloh was the artistic director for Louis Vuitton’s menswear lines. After his death, the company partnered with Nike to commemorate Virgil’s brilliant life. The ultra-rare sneakers have only been gifted to a select few.

Jadakiss, DJ Khaled, and Fat Joe are known to have made what has become known as “the list.” Eminem recently revealed via Twitter that he also made the cut for the sought-after Air Force Ones. Shady was honored to receive the gift.

“These r just too crazy. Thank you @nike honored to be on #thelist rest easy @virgilabloh”

Virgil Abloh had an enormous impact on the culture of streetwear. Abloh’s influences can be felt all over the place. Only the elite influencers of hip-hop were chosen to receive the shoes. Eminem obviously commands major respect.

Eminem was humbled to make the list. The world’s most successful rapper will now prepare for one of the biggest performances of his life. The Detroit native will join Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar for what promises to be the biggest Super Bowl halftime show ever. Maybe he’ll even wear the new shoes as a tribute to Virgil Abloh.
