The public is rallying support for Regina King after the devastating news. Ian Alexander, who celebrated his 26th birthday on Wednesday, is no longer with us.

The award winning actress is one of the most respected and positive entertainers in the industry. Fans, as well as friends, have taken to social media to send love and kind words her way. The actress, 51, confirmed the tragic news on Friday.

“Our family is devastated at the deepest level by the loss of Ian. He is such a bright light who cared about the happiness of others. Our family asks for respectful consideration during this private time. Thank you.” She said in the statement.

King shared a close bond with her son. An artist and DJ who often accompanied her to events and called her ‘super mom’ at the 2019 Golden Globes. Ian shared a lovely message for Regina’s 50th birthday last year on his Instagram. Ian was the actress’s only child who she shared with her ex-husband of nine years.
