Cordae had high hopes for his latest album. “From A Birds Eye View” even had a feature from Eminem. The rapper even worked on his body to present better for the adoring cameras. All that ambition appears to have been for nothing.

“From A Birds Eye View” is only expected to sell 21,000 copies in the first week after its release. Expectations were great after “The Lost Boy” hit #13 on the US Billboard 200. That debut record sold 25,500 album equivalents in its first week.

Cordae announced that new music was coming soon on January 10th. The record dropped on the 14th. The inclusion of several major stars including Gunna, Eminem, Lil Wayne, and more had fans earmarking the record as a sure-fire hit.

The first week album sales will likely place Cordae’s new album in the top 20. It must be disappointing, considering the success of his first effort. Cordae is going to continue to grind it out.

Not even a GQ cover appearance was enough for Cordae’s sophomore release to match the sales of “The Lost Boy.” Eminem even took to social media to help promote the album. It doesn’t seem to have made much of a difference.

It’s a disappointing start to 2022 for Cordae. The young lyricist is going to keep working on building his brand. We’ll see if sales pick up or if the second Cordae record is a flop.
