Stephen A. Smith has been absent from ESPN’s First Take since Christmas. The controversial sports commentator was diagnosed with COVID-19 in late December. Smith initially said that his symptoms were mild.

Stephen A. was still quite vocal about his opinions while he was away. Smith has been especially harsh on the Dallas Cowboys and their legions of partisans. After Dak Prescott blamed Dallas’ playoff loss on the officials, Stephen had a field day.

Aside from his dragging the Cowboys, Smith celebrated his return to the show today. During an opening segment where he mocked the team and their fans, Stephen A. re-introduced himself to the sporting world. Smith mocked co-host and former Dallas Cowboy Michael Irvin on set.

After the hilarious opening sketch, Stephen talked about how he almost died of COVID. Smith was hospitalized with double pneumonia. The commentator then advised that everybody watching should get vaccinated.

After the rather somber segment, Smith went right back to trolling Cowboys fans. At the top of the show, Stephen A. promised the most miserable two hours of Dallas fans’ lives. That promise was delivered in spades.

Stephen A. Smith is having fun now that he doesn’t have to worry about COVID for a while. Dallas Cowboys fans wish he was still off TV. Smith loves when he’s right, and he probably won’t ever let Dallas supporters forget it.
