Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys faced a bitter end to their season last night. It was a year in which the quarterback set records and silenced a lot of his haters. Dallas was defeated at home by the San Francisco 49ers, 23-17. Prescott contributed 254 yards and a touchdown through the air as well as rushing for another score. It wasn’t enough to make the Cowboys fans happy.

Dallas fans began to throw debris including beer bottles at the referees after the game ended. Prescott scrambled for a big gain but was unable to get the team lined back up before the clock ran out. Cowboys supporters believed they were robbed.

During his post-game comments, Prescott gave his take on the unruly behavior in the bleachers. Mike Leslie of WFAA tweeted that Dak found out that the fans were aiming for the game officials. The QB appeared to sign off on that activity.

“Oh, well, credit to them, then.”

An official must touch the football before the offensive team is allowed to set up and snap the ball. Prescott instead gave the rock to his center, who lined it up himself. A linesman ran into the Cowboys offensive line to try and set the ball and time expired.

Prescott could’ve slid earlier in the run to save a few seconds. Dak could also have been familiar enough with the rules to hand the ball to an official after he was down. Dak Prescott is creating controversy where there is none. He will live to regret his bad take.
