Ben Simmons feels like a hostage in Philadelphia. So do legions of 76ers fans. Simmons says he doesn’t feel comfortable with the team and their medical staff. Even his agent got an earful of what the Philly partisans think of the situation.

The Sixers have been trying to trade Simmons all season. So far, no deal has come the team’s way that they’ve liked. Every day Simmons remains on the roster is another that other players garnered in a swap could have been contributing and learning the system.

Denver Nuggets guard Austin Rivers doesn’t think Ben Simmons will play again in The City of Brotherly Love. Austin is the son of Philadelphia head coach Doc Rivers. There is probably some insider insight on the matter. TMZ Sports caught up with Rivers on the subject.

“No man, probably not. I don’t think so. If he hasn’t suited up by now, then I don’t think so.”

Rivers was asked if he thought a trade might be coming. If a deal wasn’t done by now, he said, it probably wasn’t likely. The team even tried to work things out and keep Simmons, but those talks have not proved fruitful.

Ben Simmons is unhappy in Philadelphia. It doesn’t seem like any NBA team wants to make a trade. Something has eventually got to give. Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers have been at a standoff for far too long.
