Brandy Norwood had a terrible start to a new year as just weeks into the year she’s being dragged to court. The singer was hit with a lawsuit by a jewelry designer over a missing ring.

Brandy and her stylist Ashley Sean Thomas are being sued by Elle B. Mambetov, a fashion designer and Beverly Hills store owner. TMZ discovered legal documents in which Elle alleges Ashley approached her last year about borrowing jewelry and clothes for the singer to wear at the American Music Awards in November.

The designer did let them borrow some outfits and a Dreamboule Big Bang Diamond Ring. Which as it appears went missing. The designer claims the the ring is worth a whopping $45,000 dollars.

Elle alleges in her suit that Brandy’s stylist told it her it was last seen on the piano at Brandy’s Calabasas estate. However, in the end Brandy chose not to wear the ring or the outfit to the AMAs. It’s common for stylists to put together many different looks for celebs to choose from.
